Should not happen. The Installer is tested by some guys and working well with a resulting working system.
Why start with raspbian-lite ? Easy answer: Why use an image with much more than needed ? Based on lite the installer will only install really needed things not more and keep the system as small as possible.
Try reinstall on a clean lite image. To be shure you have latest installer redownload it.
